Deze briljante tekst staat op de trouwkaart van Ophelia en Bob. Ze trouwden op een maandagmiddag op Landgoed Eikenrode, onder de prachtige grote eik.
This awesome text is what Ophelia and Bob's wedding invitation starts out with. They tied the knot on a Monday afternoon at Estate Eikenrode, underneith the beautiful huge oaktree.

's Morgens thuis werd Ophelia's haar en make-up gedaan - haar schoonzusje kijkt toe.
Ophelia's hair and make-up were done at home - her sister in law is watching.

Bob was ondertussen een verdieping lager in het prachtige statige pand.
Meanwhile, Bob was downstairs in the very nice residence.

Toen zijn bruid helemaal klaar was kwam hij boven. Dit is vlak nadat ze elkaar voor het eerst zagen.

Ketchup, de mini bullterrier van Ophelia, was ringendrager en was er de hele dag bij. Je zult zien dat ze nog een paar keer voorkomt in deze post - ze is helemaal geweldig en omdat ze echt bij de trouwdag hoorde, krijgt ze de blogaandacht die haar toekomt. Dus hier de bruid die op Landgoed Eikenrode nog snel even de hond uitlaat voor de huwelijksceremonie begint. De trouwringen zaten in het kleine roze tasje dat aan Ketchup's halsband hing.
Ketchup, Ophelia's mini bullterrier, was their ringbearer and she was there all day. You'll see her appearing in this post a few times - she's great and as she was an imporant addition to the wedding day she's getting some bloglove of her own! So here's the bride walking her dog right before her wedding ceremony was starting. Ketchup was carrying the wedding rings in the little pink purse on her collar.

Op deze foto is goed te zien waar het landgoed haar naam aan dankt. Het was een stralende dag en de zon door de bladeren van de grote eik zorgde tijdens de ceremonie voor een feeëriek beeld!
This image totally shows why the estate has 'oak' in its name. It was a nice bright day and the sun coming throught the leaves of the big oak made for a fairytale image.

Na de ceremonie schonk het kersverse echtpaar magnumflessen champagne leeg in een hele piramide van champagneglazen.
After the ceremony, the brand new Mr. and Mrs. poured champagne from magnum bottles into a whole pyramid of champagne glasses.

Het was leuk om te zien hoe Ophelia en Bob van hun huwelijksdag echt hun eigen feestje maakten, met veel niet-traditionele elementen. Zo hadden ze geen traditionele bruidstaart, maar allemaal verschillende vlaaien. Met ieder een eigen bruidstaarttopper. Ze sneden de vlaaien een voor een aan. Leuk!
It was fun to see how Ophelia and Bob had put so much thought into their wedding day, with lots of non-traditional elements. The didn't have a traditional wedding cake, but all kinds of different pies, each with their own cake topper. The cut the pies one by one. Fun!

Het bruidspaar kreeg als cadeau een grote fles champagne en een zwaard om de fles te sabreren. Ophelia had al van te voren gezegd dat ze geen truttige trouwfoto's wilde en vatte het plan op iets met het zwaard te doen. En als je ons een beetje kent, dan weet je dat dat bij ons niet tegen dovemansoren is gezegd!
One of the gifts the bride and groom received was a large bottle of champagne and a sword to cut the bottle open ('sabrage'). Ophelia had mentioned beforehand that she didn't want tradiotional wedding photo's and took to the idea of using the sword. And anyone who knows a little about us, knows a suggestion like that doesn't fall on deaf ears!

Dat hielden we niet lang vol, dus de foto met de getuigen is weer een stuk minder traditioneel.
We couldn't keep that up for long, so the photo with the witnesses is a lot less traditional.

Er was een leuke Franse crepe-meneer die 's middags voor iedereen die dat wilde vanuit zijn crepes-mobiel de meest geweldige crepes maakte. Hartig of zoet, alles kon.
There was a fun French crepes guy, who made very tasty crepes to order for everyone. Salty, sweet, anything was possible.

De vader van de bruidegom hield een mooie toespraak.

Het blije bruidspaar dat afscheid nam van hun bruidsgasten om met een klein clubje heerlijk een midweek te genieten in een chateau in de Belgische Ardennen.

De trouwringen waren een wel heel bijzondere creatie van onze buurman Mark Bos. Okee, we wonen niet naast elkaar, maar als je allebei in zo'n klein dorp woont mag je elkaar toch buren noemen. Deze ringen zijn gemaakt van diverse kleuren goud, met bij de bruidegom de hartslag van de bruid in 3D en bij de bruid die van haar bruidegom. De ring van Ophelia was ook nog helemaal ingelegd met diamanten. Cool!
The wedding rings were a very unique creation by our neighbor, Mark Bos of Mark Bos Jewels. No, we don't actually live next door from each other, but when living in a town as small as ours, you can call each other neighbor anyway. These rings are made of several colors of gold, and the groom's ring has the bride's heartbeat in it, while the bride's ring has her groom's heartbeat in it. Ophelia's ring was set with diamonds all around to boot. Cool!
